Squeaky clean!

Now that I've gotten my Plyometric Cardio workout in, a nice jog in the pouring down rain, and a hot shower, I finally feel awake and like my brain is ready to function for the day (unfortunately, its almost 8:30pm so it's a little late).

I felt really good about our workout today. I felt extremely proud of myself for killing it during the warm up (especially the Heisman which is my LEAST favorite part of the warm up). I also felt much better about the push ups in the level 2 drills, however, keeping up to speed with Shaun T in the DVD and all the push ups is something I am still working on. I guess it's still a success if I end the workout on the floor in a pool of my own sweat. I was feeling extra good (or extra crazy, who knows which one) and decided since its pouring down rain, it would be a good idea to take a lap around our townhouse complex to cool down. It felt great running in the rain, unfortunately, I ran without my glasses on (and no contacts) so I managed to step in almost every single puddle and completely soak my shoes. Oh well, lesson learned!

I came back and made an extra yummy Vanilla Berry Protein Smoothie. I tried using frozen bananas and it was mmm mmm good! Definitely going to use that for all future protein shakes. I recommend it, so if you are ever in the mood for trying it out, you should do it! Just cut a banana into slices and put it in a freezer bag. Place in the freezer and remove and place into any smoothie :)

I also forgot to mention earlier, or give more explanation to, but my plan of action for getting in shape for Puerto Rico is using INSANITY. It involves following a strict workout plan of 6 workouts a week with one rest day. There is a nutrition guide which I am also following. I get to eat 5 times a day, each meal containing anywhere from 280-310 calories. So far, the food is absolutely delicious (with exceptions of the protein pancake and proatmeal, which we are still trying to perfect or find a way to make them taste a little better). Otherwise, I feel completely satisfied with all the meals, and found quite a few favorites which I will probably continue to make even after this workout program is done.

Of course, it would make no sense to follow this great nutrition plan, and continue to fill myself with booze and sweets (BOTH of things which I enjoy greatly). So, this being said, I have given up booze until Puerto Rico (which I plan on drinking for most of the trip, so I guess its not that bad to give up). Still difficult sometimes after a hard day at work, or wanting to go out for drinks on the weekend, but I just keep reminding myself of the prize. Also, everybody knows its Girl Scout Season (its impossible to miss those girls at the grocery store). Chad has been pulling me away every single time we go near them (he knows I can't say no to the innocent faces, let alone the Thin Mints...my weakness). However, the past week, all I've been talking about it those cookies and everyone else around me seems to be doing the same. I finally cracked and told myself I HAD to buy at least one box. So, lucky me, the girls were outside Fred Meyer yesterday and I stocked up on some boxes. My original plan was just to get a box of Thin Mints to throw in the freezer (which I will NOT open until after our trip), but somehow managed to buy a box of Thin Mints, Samoas (which are for Chad to enjoy down the road) and a box of cranberry something or another cookies. I think when I saw them, I was trying to convince myself since they had cranberries they would be a 'healthy' treat I could indulge in..but once I got home, I read the nutrition facts and decided it would be best to hide that box of cookies too. This being said, only 40 days left until I can open a box of cookies! YAY!

I'm sure I could keep on rambling, but it's Sunday, and Chad and I have designated this 'date night' for ourselves. He always makes the Seafood Marinara for dinner (yes, we get pasta with our program) and we normally watch one of our NetFlix movies. Tonight, is a movie of my choice. Middle Men. I had forgotten what it was about, but I believe its about the porn industry... I will make sure to include reviews in my next post. I need to go make my meals for tomorrow and get ready for date night!

Goodnight! xo

P.S.
I planned on including more pictures, but got lazy. I will probably bombard all future posts with lots of pictures..so be prepared :)
